CRUEL SHEPHERDS; JESUS -THE CHIEF, CARING SHEPHERD.

CRUEL SHEPHERDS; JESUS -THE CHIEF, CARING SHEPHERD.

Praise God. Welcome to todays broadcast, Acts of the Spirit. You know, it is wonderful thing to see what our God does, for He is able, He is able, He is able. And God desires that we would look unto Him in every circumstance and every situation. God desires that we would trust Him and know that He is able. God does not want us looking to the world. He does not want us looking to Sodom and Egypt, but He wants us to look to Him.

We are living in times when God’s people have not been taught to look to God at all but they’ve been taught to look unto the world; they’ve been taught to look unto governments; they’ve been taught to look unto the powers of the heathen; and they’ve been taught to look at carnal men, relying upon the arm of flesh rather than relying upon the power that is found in Almighty God. But God wants us to get ourselves in the position to look to Him continually, knowing that He is able. For when it is God that we are trusting in, we shall find that no matter what befalls us, no matter what besets us, that our God is well able to deliver us, and our God is well able to strengthen us again and again and again.

We are living in times when there are many false teachers who have come to the scene, who have come to the forefront and have taught God’s people to look to everything other than God. They are lying messengers who teach God’s people to look only to them, only to them, again and again and again. And they teach God’s people to do so, simply to keep them confused, simply to keep them deluded and estranged from God. But God wants us to realize that He desires us in the palm of His hand, that He desires us looking to Him, and that He desires us to know that He is our Sovereign.

Chapter 34 of Ezekiel is what the Lord has for us to look at this day. It says, “And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto the shepherds; Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! should not the shepherds feed the flocks? Ye eat the fat, and ye clothe you with the wool, ye kill them that are fed: but ye feed not the flock. The diseased have ye not stregthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them. And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd: and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered” (vv. 1-5). Now we see in this fantastic word that God is giving to Ezekiel, the prophet Ezekiel, in chapter 34, that God is angry with the shepherds who have not fed His flock. He is angry with the shepherds who have only looked out for their own gain, looked out for their own estate, for He says in this indictment against them, “The diseased have ye not stregthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them.” So you see that the Lord is very grieved with His own shepherds, because it is God’s intention that His shepherds would be so full of His power and glory, and so full of His love for His people, that they would bring in the diseased that the diseased could be strengthened; that they would speak the healing word and the sick could be healed; that they would bring again those who are broken and bind them up; that they would bring in those who have been driven away; that they would bring in those that have been lost and bring them back into the fold of God. And because God’s shepherds—the ones who profess that they are God’s shepherds—do not do what God desires them to do, we see that the sheep are scattered. Since they are scattered, it’s a fact that there’s no shepherd to rule over them. The sheep become meat to all the beasts of the field when they are scattered. That means that God’s sheep have wandered in desolated places and the beasts of the field have devoured them, they have wounded them, they have maimed them, they have been taken into captivity by cruelty and oppression and there they remain; and it is simply because the shepherds have not done the job in ministering and protecting the sheep of God’s fold.

Now we know that sometimes the sheep will wander away and the shepherd will look for the sheep, but it says that they didn’t even look for those that were lost to bring them back. And it says in verse six, “My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yea, my flock was scattered upon all the face of the earth, and none did search or seek after them.” You know, this is the way that things are set up in these modern times in all these modern churches. No one knows anything about anyone, and all is well—as long as you show up and pay your tithes; that’s all that matters. There’s no afterthought for the people of God at all. And in some of these “mega churches,” you could be gone from the church for an entire year and no one would even know it except if they kept an account of your tithe money. That’s a tragic state of affairs. Yet because the pastors are so greedy after their own gain, they only look to increase their flock or get bigger and bigger and bigger congregations. They do not care about the condition of God’s people.

We know that God finds no pleasure in the shepherds that do these things and He is very displeased in them, because He renders an indictment against them in this very chapter in Ezekiel. He says that they are going to pay for what they’ve done against His people.

The point that we are getting to today is that there are many of you who are in the conditions that have been described in this chapter. There are many of you who are diseased, there are many of you who are sick, there are many of you who are in oppression and depression and there’s been none to care for your condition. But the Lord, because He is so merciful, does care about you, and even this day, He is speaking unto you to cry out to Him. He wants me to remind you that He is the Chief Shepherd that does care for you, that He is the one that desires to strengthen you, and that He is the one that loves you and desires to heal you. He is the one that desires to bring you back unto Himself, the one that desires to see you restored, the one that loves and cherishes your soul, even though you are in desperate straights.

“The Lord wants me to remind you that He is the Chief Shepherd that does care for you, that He is the one that desires to strengthen you, and that He is the one that loves you and desires to heal you.”

The Lord is understanding of the fact that there have been calloused and hard men who have borne rule over you and have not cared about you. And because of that, the Lord is speaking to you this day and He is saying that if you will look unto Him, He is your Shepherd.

The Lord desires to heal those of you who are in sickness, those of you who are diseased, those of you who have turned aside, and He desires that you would be restored. Because He is the tenderhearted God, the God of mercy, the God who cares for those who are weak and enfeebled. He cares for those who have not been cared for. He cares for them because He is the Shepherd over His sheep. And the Lord is saying unto you this day, that if you will but look to Him, that He will be able to meet you where you are—that He will be able to meet you in your diseased and sick state, that He will be able to meet you in your state of oppression and vexation—and He will be able to free you from everything that the enemies have put against you. Because the Living God does love and care for His people, and even though the shepherds are under the indictment from God for their cruelty, for their oppression, for their neglect of His sheep, He wants His people to know, even this day, that He is not the same as those careless shepherds. For the Lord is merciful, He is full of lovingkindness, He is full of tenderheartedness towards His own people. And if you will but look to the Lord, even this day, the Lord will minister healing unto thee and raise thee up. For the Lord desires a people that will look unto Him and look unto Him only; a people who will know that He is able. If you will but believe in the Lord this day, you can be healed, you can be brought forth, you can be strengthened, and you can be restored.

~PRAYER~

Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, knowing that it is you who is the Chief Shepherd, the loving Father, the one who does care for the flock of God. And we know that because you have a care for those who are in these conditions as named in this chapter, who have been under the oppression of cruel and non-caring shepherds, that you are the one who will restore your people. And we know, Father, that you are the one who does hear the cries, who does hear the pleas of those who are in need, desperate need of your help. And because you are so loving, because you are so kind, because you are so merciful, you reach down in the tender goodness of who you are.

So even this day, we look unto you, dear God, because you are the one who desires to bring us again unto thy bosom. You are the one who desires that we would be fed with the very bread of Heaven, with the very food that you have that would give us your strength, and so we rely upon you, even this day, and we come against all the powers of darkness, all the powers of cruel and oppressive shepherds, all the powers that would cause us to be wandered off of the way of God. We command those powers to be smitten in the name of Jesus, and we release the healing virtue of God in our lives. And Father, we just thank you that you are the one who does give forth that healing power and that it is through Jesus Christ, your Son, that that was manifest unto the sons of men. We know that you are the one who desires that we would be healed, every one of us, clean and clear of all the diseases that have sought to plague us. And we just command the diseases that have beset God’s people this day, to be smitten in the name of Jesus, to release your hold, you foul spirits of infirmity! We just thank you, dear God, that it is you who is able to restore; that it is you who is able to strengthen.

We come against all the spirits of heart problems in the name of Jesus, and we command those spirits to be bound and cast off of the people of God, and to be troubling them no more. We command all the spirits of cancer of all forms to come out of the bodies of the sheep that have not been taken care of, that have not been healed, that have not been delivered and brought forth. We command all those spirits of afflicting cancers to be bound up and cast into the pit. Likewise, in the name of Jesus, we command all the spirits that affect the blood to be drawn out of the blood of God’s believing ones this day, even now. All spirits that are affecting the blood, that are diseasing the blood, that are causing high blood pressure, that are causing low blood pressure, that are causing diseases in the blood—we command every one of you spirits to be bound, to come out of God’s people even now. And we just thank you, dear God, that you are the one who is able, that you are the one who does heal, and that you are the one who does care for your people.

We command all crippling spirits to come out of the flock of God. All of those spirits that make the sheep to grow lame, that make the sheep to grow enfeebled and tottering, that make the sheep to fall over, that make the sheep just simply to be paralyzed and not able to function—we command every one of those crippling devils to come out of the people of God, in Jesus’ name. And Father, we just thank you that you are the one who does care, who does reach down in your mercy, who does see that the shepherds have not cared for your people, have not cared for your sheep, have not cared for your flock; but even so, that you reach out in mercy.

Father, we pray likewise and we break the curse that these shepherds have put upon your flock by teaching them false doctrine, by teaching them to rely upon the arm of flesh, by teaching them to believe in fantasies and fairytales and not believe in you. And we command every lying devil, every false doctrine devil, every soothsaying devil, every hypocritical devil, that is encamped against these sheep—we command their powers to be broken and we speak healing and deliverance unto your people. Because Father, we know that you are able and we believe you and we trust you and we know that by the mighty name of Jesus, that we are strenghtened, that we are healed, that we are delivered, that we are restored. And we thank you, dear God, that your indictment is against those shepherds who practice neglect, and that your mercy is toward us this day as we have cried out to you. We thank you and praise you, thank you and praise you, that you are the Shepherd who does care for us—the sheep of your pasture.

BEWARE OF FALSE HUMAN COMPASSION
CONCERNING THE JUDGMENTS OF GOD!

It is a wonderful, beautiful, glorious thing to be knowing our God, to be knowing that our God knows exactly what He is doing. We are living in times when we are seeing the mighty acts of God revealed, when we are seeing His glory, His might, His power, His triumph, His victory. It is important that we realize that it is God who is doing these things in the earth.

As you know, we are living in a time of great natural disasters when God is bringing forth His vengeance, His wrath, His fury, His indignation upon the unrighteous. We need to realize and appreciate that God’s judgment is here and that God is showing that He is the one who reigns victorious.

Actually this is not the time to mourn but this is the time to give thanks and praise unto our God, because God has lived with and tolerated men’s sins long enough and now He says that the cup is full. Therefore God is bringing forth His vengeance in such a way that men will know that it is by Him that these mighty acts are performed. We need to realize that our God is doing these things and He is doing them because He is cleansing the earth. He is doing them because He wants men to pay heed unto Him and realize that He is the one true God. When God brings nations down and shakes up the earth it is that men would pay heed unto Him. God desires that we would realize that He is fully in control, that He is the omnipresent, that He is the one true God.

There are multitudes, vast multitudes of men and women who worship idols throughout this earth, but their idols cannot help them in the day of calamity, their idols cannot keep them in the day of evil, their idols cannot keep them from the wrath of an indignant God. God is full-up of the vileness, the wickedness, the corruption that men have exhibited in His sight. Because of that, God is vindicating Himself through His judgments and we need to rejoice in the same.

Turn with me to Psalm 96 and let us read verses 1-3. I’m reading from The Amplified Bible. “O sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth! Sing to the Lord, bless [affectionately praise] His name; show forth His salvation from day to day. Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous works among all the peoples. For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; He is to be reverently feared and worshiped above all so-called gods.” So we see that it is the time to sing a new song. It is the time to sing unto the Lord. It is the time to praise His name and show forth His salvation from day to day. Notice it says we are to declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous works among all people.

Continuing in verses 4-8, it says, “For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; He is to be reverently feared and worshiped above all so-called gods. For all the gods of the nations are [lifeless] idols, but the Lord made the heavens. Honor and majesty are before Him; strength and beauty are in His sanctuary. Ascribe to the Lord, O you families of the people, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Give to the Lord the glory due to His name; bring an offering and come (before Him) into His courts.” So we see that it is the time to give honor, to give glory, to magnify the Lord for who He is. It is the time to know that it is He who is worthy to be praised, that it is He who is worthy of all offerings and that it is the time to come before Him.

Verses 9-13 tell us, “O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness; tremble and reverently fear before Him, all the earth. Say among the nations that the Lord reigns; that the world also is established, that it cannot be moved; He shall judge and rule the people righteously and with justice. Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar and all the things which fill it. Let the field be exultant, and all that is in it! Then shall all the trees of the woods sing for joy before the Lord; for He comes, for He comes to judge and govern the earth! He shall judge the world with righteousness and justice, and the people with His faithfulness and truth.” Oh, what a wonderful thing to know that it is the time to praise our God! It is the time to thank our God that He is judging, that it is Him who has come, that it is Him who will govern, that it is Him who will show forth His righteousness once again, that it is Him that we can look to for His faithfulness and His truth, that it is Him that we can give praises unto continually. This is not the time to weep and mourn but it is the time to give thanks unto our God, for it is God who is bringing forth His wrath, His fury, His indignation in His judgments of righteousness and truth, for our God is just and His way is perfect. If we will but yield unto Him we will see that it is the time of great glory, it is the time of The Acts of the Spirit of the Living God.

It is the time for us to worship Him in the reverential fear of who He is and what He is able to do. It is not the time to argue against God and defend those who are idol worshipers, defend those who are full of evil and iniquity, defend those who are despisers of the way of the Lord, simply because they are human beings. But it is the time to realize that it is God who is executing His judgment against the wicked, against the idolaters, against those who are false in their relationship towards Him. It is God’s timing that He is bringing down the haughty, the proud, the high-minded; that He is bringing down the belligerent, bringing down the arrogant, bringing down those who have made a mockery of His name. It is the time to rejoice when our God does these things and not the time to mourn. It is the time to be praising our God, to be rejoicing in Him, to be singing a new song, because it is the time that our Lord is coming in His judgment. If we look around us, if we listen to what is happening throughout the earth, we can see that it is the time that our God is judging and judging and judging. WE ARE NOT TO OPPOSE THE LORD. WE ARE NOT TO PLAY GREATER THAN GOD. WE ARE NOT TO GROW HUMANISTIC BREASTS OF FALSE COMPASSION AND ASK THE NATIONS OF THE WORLD TO NURSE ON THE SAME. But we are to stand in the righteousness of the execution of the judgment of our God and to be glad that it is Him who is bringing it forth.

The Scripture says that it is the time to sing a new song unto the Lord, to rejoice and give praise unto Him. Oh, how wonderful it is that our God has come in His judgments and that He will continue to come, bringing forth the same in justice and in truth! How wonderful it is to know that we can rely upon Him that His ways are righteous, that His ways are blessed, that His ways are perfect! How wonderful it is to know that we can believe in our God, trust in our God, again and again and again!

Dear people, it is not the time to live in a bubble of false humanistic assumption as to what God can and cannot do, but it is the time to realize that our God has come, that He is performing His righteous judgments, that He is bringing forth that which He has threatened to do unto the sons of men if they would not turn from their wicked ways. It is not the time to mourn the loss of idol worshipers, but it is the time to celebrate the judgment of our God. It is the time to be glad, to give thanks unto Him that He is bringing His judgments against the evil, against the iniquity, against the corruption, against the vileness that is prevalent in these times. It is the time to be thankful day by day by day that we can look to our God, that we can believe in our God, that we can trust that His way is righteous.

For indeed it is a good thing and a sweet thing, it is a blessed thing, to be able to look to Him, to be able to rely upon the light, the strength, the power, the glory that He alone can provide. It is the Lord who will provide the way for the righteous that they can rejoice and be giving thanks and praise continually that He is our God. It is the Lord who will bring His judgment against the wicked, against the corrupted, against the vile who continue to violate His truth.

How wonderfully blessed we are to be able to sing praises unto our God, to be able to sing the new song of praise and honor and glory unto His name! It is our God who does wield the sword of His righteous judgment, who does bring down those who are opposers of the truth. There are many mockers and scoffers throughout the earth who are proud in their contempt for the Living God, but it is God who will render them helpless and useless, it is God who will vindicate Himself upon them, it is God who will bring them even unto death in an instant, for it is God who is the Almighty. He is the God who is to be held in reverent fear. How wonderful it is to see that our God is restoring His righteousness in the earth, that He is restoring His Kingdom, that He is declaring to all nations that He is God!

Oh, let us exalt our God, let us praise our God, for He is mighty. Do not be caught up in a bubble of false human compassion, feeling sorry for those whom the Lord does smite through His fury; but rather rejoice that it is the Lord who will put the wicked in his place, who will render them useless, who will render them helpless, who will bring them to nought. It is the time to rejoice that our God shall be glorified in His majesty, in His glory, in His strength and His might. It is the time to know that we are seeing the mighty ACTS of the Almighty God that His Spirit is pouring forth, for He is bringing forth the Spirit of judgment in this hour. It is the time to give praise and honor and glory unto Him, for He is ALMIGHTY. It is the time to worship Him, to adore Him, to know that He is the one that we must depend upon. No longer will men be able to flaunt themselves in their wickedness, flaunt themselves in their exaltation of other gods. Now is the time that the one true God has taken His throne. It is the time to declare Him, to worship Him, to proclaim Him unto all nations. It is the time to be glad that we can serve Him, that we can sing unto Him the new song of glory, honor and praise.

How blessed we are to be in such times, for our Lord has come, our God has come in the glory of His judgment wrath, in the glory of His fury, His indignation against the wicked, the vile, the corrupted! How wonderful it is to know that it is our God who does these mighty things and it is not the work of any man! Let us thank Him and praise Him, let us sing unto Him a new song that will glorify His name. Indeed it is a blessed and a beautiful thing to exalt our God, to worship our God, to bow down low before Him. It is a glorious and a wondrous thing to know that our God does prevail, to know that our God is the conquering King, to know that we can count upon His name, that we can count upon the power that is invincible, that is enduring, that is everlasting; to know that we can rely upon Him day by day, that we can exalt His name and worship Him forevermore.

How wonderful it is to know that as we sing a new song of praise and honor and glory unto our God—as we magnify Him, as we glorify Him, as we lift Him up before all men—that He will show forth His power! He will show that it is He who will set the nations to trembling, set the nations in fear once again, that they will recognize and know that He is God. He is indeed the Almighty, the one true God who reigns supreme. How wonderful it is to be serving Him! It is the time to rejoice, it is the time to give thanks, it is the time to be glad, FOR OUR GOD REIGNS. And as He shows forth His judgment hand, let us sing unto Him the new song of praise and honor and glory.

LET US DECLARE THE TRUTH IN BOLDNESS AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY AND CHANCE WE GET.

Praise God, welcome to the Acts of the Spirit radio broadcast. Today we are privileged to be serving the Living God. We are privileged to be walking in Him, and we should be privileged to be declaring Him. God wants us to be able to declare Him as He is, He wants us to be a witness and a testimony of the goodness of His life in our lives. So many who claim that they are Christian do not live the life and do not declare the life that is found in the Lord. They think that if they merely go to church that is enough, but it is not enough.

God wants us to be witnesses. He wants us to testify of His goodness and His mercy, of His strength and His power, of His healing virtue, of His delivering hand. We need to make sure that we make the way everyday to bear witness of the truth. Whether it is the way that we live our lives, or speak to others, we still need to make an effort to bear witness of the truth of who He is.

It is a blessed thing to be walking uprightly in God, to be looking unto God, to be believing God, to be knowing that He alone is able. When it is the Lord that we will look to in faith believing, it is the Lord that will uplift us and bring us forth.

Turn with me if you will in Mark 9, this is something that we need to consider as important in our lives with God. It says beginning in verse 38, reading from the Amplified version, “John said to Him, teacher we saw a man driving out demons in your name, who does not follow along with us. We forbade him to do it because he is not of our band of your disciples. But Jesus said, do not restrain or hinder, or forbid him for no one who does a mighty work in my name will soon afterward be able to speak evil of me. For he who is not against us is for us. For I tell you truly whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to and bear the name of Christ will by no means fail to get his reward.”

So we see that the Lord was letting John to know that just because the man was not following along, if he was still declaring the mighty work in the name of Jesus, that he would therefore be of those who were of the Kingdom of God. You know we need to realize that there is much work to be done for the Lord in this wicked and perverse generation. Just because not everyone may follow in the way that we are being led, as long as they are following the Lord, as long as they declaring the Lord, as long as they are casting out demons in His name, then we need to let that work go on for the Lord’s sake.

Because we are living in a time when there are multitudes, and multitudes, and multitudes of souls who are perishing in darkness, perishing in iniquity and we need to declare the truth in boldness at every opportunity and chance that we get.

The Lord wants us to bear witness of Him, He wants others to be brought into His Kingdom, He wants men to be snatched from a burning hell and brought forth by His power. How wonderful it is to be able to bear witness of that which the Lord is able to do, to bear witness of the truth, the power, the glory of who He is. We do not need to be worrying about those who are declaring the Lord whether they are of our denomination, whether they are of our persuasion, as long as they are declaring Him.

You know denominationalism is like a chopper, it comes in and chops up God’s body and then it puts walls of separation between God’s people and we find that those of different denominations are terrified of those of the other denominations.

But we do not need to let such spirits of division keep us from the declaration of the truth, keep us from the being kindred in the body of Christ, and keep us from declaring the truth of who our God is, to those that are perishing. How important it is in this wicked and perverse generation that we work for the rescue of souls, that we work at bringing forth men, women, and children from a burning hell, that we labor while it is yet day.

We are not meant to sit back and criticize, and analyze, and denominationalize, but we are meant to evangelize. That is we are meant to evangelize and bring forth souls, by the righteousness of our God into the glorious Kingdom that He does provide.

If it is the Lord that we will look unto, and believe in, if it is the Lord that we will declare, we will find that the signs will follow after us as we believe. It is in the name of the Lord that we shall cast out devils, that we shall speak with new tongues, that we shall lay hands upon the sick and they shall recover.

How glorious it is to know that our Kingdom Savior is the one who does bring forth His Kingdom in power, in strength, and in glory. How wonderful it is to know that we can be reliant upon that which He alone can provide. When we are looking unto the Lord in faith believing, when we are partaking of that which God does provide, we will be uplifted again and again. We will be given the marvelous strength, the invincible glories that He alone delights to provide us.

How good it is that we can be reliant upon God, that we can be dependent upon that mercy day after day. How wonderful it is to know that it is the Lord who is our rock of refuge, that it is the Lord who is our strength, that it is the Lord who is our light. How wonderful it is to know that as we are partaking of that which He shall provide that we will be brought forth in Him. It is by His mercy that we shall be uplifted, that we shall be given the renewing strength that He alone can provide. When we are looking unto the Lord, declaring the Lord, we will see that men are set free. We will see that those in bondage, that those in captivity, that those in oppression are freed by the very declaration of the Lord.

How wonderful it is to be able to see souls rescued and spared from a burning hell, brought forth in salvation, rather than being taken in damnation. How wonderful it is to know that you can evangelize the lost day after day, after day. As long as there are those who are perishing, there is the need for the declaration of the salvation of our God. There is the need to get up out of our easy chairs, to get up out of our couch slouch and get busy for the Lord. How good it is to know that we can be walking forward, that we can be walking in truth, proclaiming the glorious, marvelous light of who He is. How wonderful it is to know that we can be uplifted in the glorious presence that our God does provide day after day.

For when we will be looking unto the Lord believing in His power, believing in His presence, believing in His mercy, we will see that He makes the way. Yes indeed, the way that He makes is the way glorious, it is the way wondrous, it is the way that He has in preparation for all of those who are trusting in Him. And it is a good thing to know that when we are declaring the Lord that we will not need to worry about those who may be of a different persuasion as long as they are lifting up His name. For it is not whether we are denominationalized and stamped out by the same machine but it is whether we are declaring the Lord in boldness, declaring the Lord in truth, and declaring the Lord in the mighty power of who He is.

When we will be walking uprightly in Him, declaring His Kingdom, declaring His power, declaring His glory, we will see souls redeemed. How wonderful it is to know that we have done our part, that we have done our labor and our share of rescuing those who are perishing in their sins. It is just as if we saw a giant lake and men were drowning in that lake with no way to get to the shore, and we offered them the rope of hope. We would not care if the man on the other side of the rope was of the same color, was of the same creed that we were of. But we would be laboring diligently, we would be laboring feverishly to see the ones who were drowning brought to shore. That is how it is in this great war for the souls of men, we need to labor side by side, we need to labor feverishly and diligently, for the souls that are perishing. We need to realize that more than our denominations, it is the salvation of souls that is important.

It is important that men be brought into the saving graces of our Lord, our God, and our King. It is important that men be saved from a burning hell, that they be brought into the glorious light that He alone can provide.

When it is the Lord that we will look unto in faith believing, we will find that He makes the way. We will find that there are multitudes and multitudes brought forth in the glorious power that only He can provide. It is a good thing and a sweet thing to look unto God, to believe in our God, to trust in our God. It is a good thing to know that through our God we can be brought forth, we can be uplifted, and bring others forth likewise. It is not the time to lay in a bed of ease, it is not the time to partake of sleaze, but it is the time to labor for our King.

The Lord desires that we would be walking uprightly, declaring the truth in boldness, day by day. It is the time to shake off the shackles of laziness, and lack of concern that are so easily encumbering us in this hour. It is the time to troop forward in the mighty strength, the power, the glory that is found in His name. It is the time to declare the name of Jesus even unto the ends of the earth that men can be uplifted and brought forth.

How wonderful it is to be serving the Living God, to be walking in His light, His strength, His power, His glory. How wonderful it is to be declaring Him to those who are in captivity, to those who are in bondage, to those who are oppressed by the spirits of darkness. How wonderful it is to be knowing that we can be reliant, dependent upon Him, coming forth in that which He has ordained. When it is the Lord that we look unto in faith believing, when it is the Lord that we will uplift, when it is the Lord that we will magnify, we will see that His Kingdom has come.

When we are declaring that marvelous Kingdom, we will see the captives set free. How wonderful it is to see brethren casting out devils in the name of the Lord. How wonderful it is to see sisters trooping forward declaring the mercies of God. How wonderful it is to know that throughout the earth that God is putting forth the call for His great army to arise, to arise and declare His righteousness, to arise and declare His holiness, to arise and declare His truth. It is the time, the generation, the hour to declare the Lord in His strength, His power, His glory, to see souls rescued and redeemed. To see them brought forth in the mercies, to see them brought forth in the light, that He alone can provide.

It is a glorious, wondrous thing to know that our God is triumphant, to know that our God is victorious, to know that our God shall prevail. It is a wonderful, beautiful thing to march onward, to march upward, to march forth in the glorious power of our King. How wonderful it is to see men and women stirred for the cause of Christ, declaring Him as He is in boldness, declaring Him that others can grab hold of that rope of hope, being pulled out of the lake of iniquity, the lake of fire, that waits to devour their souls. How wonderful it is when we see men brought to the shore, when we see them rescued from a burning eternity, when we see them revived in the glorious strength that is in our God.

What a day it is that we may labor, what a day it is that we may toil, for the glories of our King. For it is a good thing to be able to declare Him, to be able to walk in Him, to be able to reflect the glorious light of who He is. What a wonderful thing it is to be uplifted, to be declaring the truth, to be declaring the King, to be declaring His glory. It is the time to walk in the boldness, declaring our God, rescuing the perishing, that they may be redeemed.

PRAISE GOD! Welcome to another Acts of the Spirit message. What a privilege it is to be declaring the goodness, the power, the strength of our God! What a good thing it is to be knowing that we can trust in Him, believe in Him, for He is well-able!

You know, the Lord desires that we will be looking unto Him continually, because He is the one who is our mainstay. The Lord desires that we would be looking unto Him continually, because He is the Life. Today we are going to be reading out of John the 14th chapter. This is a very good portion of Scripture, and it's something that will encourage us and, I believe, excite us, if we are truly wanting to walk in God.

It is one thing to say that we love the Lord, but it's another thing to go the Lord's way. So often, God's people say that they love Him, say that they choose Him, but it is not really Him that they love. They love their own will, they love their own way, they choose to walk in darkness instead of the light. You know, if you claim that you love the Lord and yet you are adhering to the world, cleaving to the world, loving the world, chasing the world, you're a liar. Because we cannot serve two masters, and if we are loving the Lord, then it is Him that we must obey. And we should give Him the obedience that He desires of us, not out of begrudging, not out of resentment, but out of joyfulness that we have been given the privilege to obey.

Turn with me, if you will, to John the 14th chapter, beginning in verse 12. I am reading from the Amplified version. It says, "I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if any one steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father." Now if you really stop and think about what that is saying there, it is saying, that if we will steadfastly believe in the Lord, that we will be able to do the things that the Lord has done. That means that if it is the Lord that we trust in, if it is the Lord that we look to, if it is the Lord that we continue in, that the same works that Jesus has done, we shall be able to do. And why will we be able to do those things? Because we are believing, because we are in obedience. You know, we cannot do the works of God if we are going to live in disobedience and disrespect towards the Lord Jesus.

* * *
"It is one thing to say that we love the Lord, but it's another thing to go the Lord's way. ...If you claim that you love the Lord and yet you are adhering to the world, cleaving to the world, loving the world, chasing the world, YOU'RE A LIAR."

* * *

In verses 13-15 it says, "And I will do--I Myself will grant--whatever you may ask in My name [presenting all I AM] so that the Father may be glorified and extolled in [through] the Son. [Exodus 3:14.] [Yes] I will grant--will do for you--whatever you shall ask in My name [presenting all I AM]. If you [really] love Me you will keep (obey) My commands." So we see that He is saying that He will be there to see that we get our prayers answered, if we are asking in His name. It says, "presenting all I AM". And I wonder there if that presenting of all that He is by asking in His name does not mean that we are meant to be in His character, that we are meant to be in His sincerity, that we are meant to be in His quality, that we are meant to be in the relationship that He had with the Father.

And it says, "...so that the Father may be glorified and extolled in [through] the Son". So we see that Jesus is wanting His Father to receive the glory, He is wanting His Father to be extolled and glorified, He is wanting His Father to be lifted up as we come through doing those things or receiving those things that we ask because we are in Him. He says, "[Yes] I will grant--will do for you--whatever you shall ask in My name [presenting all I AM]. If you [really] love Me you will keep (obey) My commands. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter [and "Comforter" means the following:] (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby) that He may remain with you forever" (vv. 14-16). Now this is the promise that was given--that we would be given the Comforter. And when you read the definition of what that Comforter is--and Jesus is saying that He may remain with you forever--you see what a splendid request that He is asking of His Father! And we see that the Holy Ghost is the gift of the Father that is bestowed upon us at the petition of the Son. But that Comforter means "Counselor, the Helper, the Intercessor, the Advocate, the Strengthener" and "Standby". Oh, what a glorious package that is to receive with all of these aspects in there that we can depend upon, that we can look to, that we can trust in, that we can believe in, because this gift is coming from the Father by the desire of the Son! What a glorious wonderful thing that is that we can be trusting in God.

And it says, "...the Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him, nor know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you" (v. 17). Praise God. What a glorious thing that we are going to be filled! The Spirit of Truth is going to fill us and we will be in a place of being counseled, interceded for, having our own Advocate, our own Strengthener and our Standby. And all of these things are inherent in that which the Father is going to give unto us at the request of the Son. I mean, what more could we want, that while Jesus is going away, that He is giving unto us everything that we have need of? Everything that He asked the Father to give us will be given.

And it says in verses 18-20, "I will not leave you orphans--comfortless, desolate, bereaved, forlorn, helpless--I will come [back] to you. Just a little while now and the world will not see Me any more, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also. At that time--when that day comes--you will know [for yourselves] that I am in My Father, and you [are] in Me, and I [am] in you." Then He goes on and He says, "The person who has My commands and keeps them is the one who [really] loves Me, and whoever [really] loves Me will be loved by My Father. And I [too] will love him and will show (reveal, manifest) Myself to him--I will let Myself be clearly seen by him and make Myself real to him" (v. 21). Praise God. And isn't that wonderful, that we are privileged to know that we can be receiving of the Comforter, that we can be receiving of that strengthening, that we can be receiving of that power, of that glory, that we can be receiving all those things through the Father at the request of the Son? And what a wonderful thing to know that that Intercessor will be continually in us and that we will be uplifted in the intercession that will cause us to develop and grow and mature spiritually, that we do not need to remain as babes but we can grow up into the fulness of the stature of the Son of God and be accepted of the Father as we are!

It is a glorious thing to know that Jesus is wanting us to have what He had. And that's why He is saying, "I will give you the Comforter, who will prove to be all of these things to you and who will be constantly with you and you will be guided by the same guidance that I received." Now to me, it shows the humility of Jesus, because He could have taken all the glory to Himself and said, "Oh, you poor wimps! Once I leave you, you will be nothing. Once I depart from you, you will fall to the ground. And once I go back to the Father, I will be nothing more to you than a fond memory, because you will have no semblance of the power that I have manifested, because I am the Son of God and you are nothing!" But Jesus did not walk or talk in such a way. He considered them (His disciples), and said, "I'm not going to leave you as orphans." And He said, "I'm going to send to you the power that you have need of--the one that will comfort you, counsel you, guide you, stand by you, be your advocate, be everything that you need."

* * *
"It is a glorious thing to know that Jesus is wanting us to have what He had."

* * *

Now isn't that beautiful and glorious that we can receive that same thing that He had--that we can receive the power from on high, that we can receive that in-filling, that we can receive that fulness of power that will lead us and guide us and direct us all of our days! What a privilege it is to know that Jesus has sought the Father, and because of the request of the Son, as believers, we are privileged to receive the Holy Ghost Baptism; that we are privileged to received the in-filling, to receive the fire that only comes from God. Today that Holy Ghost is here for us to receive and to walk in the power contained therein. And if we will receive what the Father desires to give us at the request of the Son, we will find that we have the same Holy Ghost power that Jesus walked under during His ministry upon this earth. Isn't it a good day to receive the in-filling of the Holy Ghost? Isn't it a good day to receive the Baptism?

PRAYER: Father, we pray right now for all of those who are reading this message, even some who think they are already in the Holy Ghost but have never manifested the signs that you have told us will be evidenced by those who are really baptized. We are praying for all who would desire to receive this in-filling of this power of the Comforter even now, and we are praying that they would be released in their heavenly language to speak in other tongues as the Spirit does give utterance (praying in tongues).
PROPHETIC WORD: "My children, I speak to thee, I say that I will come to thee. I say receive ye me. I say do not reject me, do not scorn nor scoff me, but I say receive ye me, for I say that I come to thee. And I say it is a blessed thing when you will receive that which I have for thee, for I say that I come to thee. I say do not put me off but I say open unto me, for I say that I come to thee."

Oh, what a beautiful thing to know that we can receive that Spirit of Comfort; that we can receive that Spirit of Peace, that Spirit of Standby and Strength and Glory and Power; that we can walk in the power that Jesus walked in! Because of His humility, because of His mercy, because of His lovingkindness, He will give unto us the very power that He had from the Father. Oh, what a blessed thing it is to know that even this day that we have received and we will walk in that Spirit, that we will live in that Spirit, that we will be the Spirit people that God intends His children to be!

God does not call us forth to call us to be carnal creatures, trampling around and crushing the precious things of His Spirit truth. But God calls us to walk respective of the anointing, the strength, the power, the glory that are found in Jesus, our Savior, our Lord, our Master, our King. And what a beautiful thing it is to be led by the Comforter, to be guided into those intercessions that will keep us in the way of the truth. What a glorious thing it is to know that today is the day that we have received the seed of the Spirit, that we can walk in that Spirit, be comforted by the same, and come forth rejoicing always.

PRAISE GOD. Welcome to this Acts of the Spirit message. What a privilege it is to be serving the Living God, to know that He is alive, alive, alive; to know that we can come to Him, that we can believe in Him, that we can trust in Him because He is well-able! What a blessed thing it is to be able to cry out unto our God and know that He will answer! Oh, if only we can perceive what we can receive if we sow in the Spirit of the Living God!

You know, God is sick of a people that are looking continually to the carnal realm, continually to what they can achieve in the flesh, to what they can gain that will pass away. Because, you know, we are not meant to live our lives on that which passes away, but we are meant to live our lives for that which is found in the eternal realm with God and with all of the glory that reflects who He is. The Lord does not want us to keep continuing on a plane that is carnal whereby we only worry about the creature comfort, the creature satisfaction and gratification; but God desires that we would abandon ourselves fully unto the Spirit. Because God's call always has been and always will be for a Spirit people, that is, a people who will recognize that it is the Spirit that gives them life and who seek to remain in the same. That is, He desires a people who will be obedient to the commands of the Spirit, doing whatsoever it is that the Spirit speaketh, with rejoicing and the giving of thanks.

Today we are going to be reading out of Romans the 8th chapter. Oh, what a thrill it is to go to the Word of God, to receive our instruction and to know that we can follow the same! You know, the Lord wants us to be ever quickened to His Word, to be able to perceive and receive the instructions that are given to us on a daily basis. Some people think, "Well, if I go to church once in a while, that's enough." But you know, that's actually a sin in the eyes of God. Because yes, that's fine (in one sense) if you go to church once in a while, but you know, we should come to the Lord every single day. We should seek to live and abide in the presence of Almighty God, because it is Him who is our lifeline. And we should seek to bring even our thoughts into subjectivity to the mind of the Lord, because in so doing, we show to Him that it is Him that we believe in. We should not live our lives in carnality and fleshliness, in pursuit of that which passes away, and then pay an occasional oblation unto God by going to church once in a while. But we should seek to abide in the presence of the Living God continually, because that is really God's requirement.

** ** ** **
"God's call always has been and always will be for a Spirit people . . . He desires a people who will be obedient to the commands of the Spirit, doing whatsoever it is that the Spirit speaketh, with rejoicing and the giving of thanks."

** ** ** **

You know, when we are living in "lazy town", we really don't realize what it is that God desires and requires of His people. It's just like if I live in a place where everybody has a leaky roof--I don't know what it is to have a roof without a leak. But if I go and get my roof patched and I live in a dry house, and all of a sudden, my belongings stop mildewing, and rotting, and everything stops being sodden with rainwater, I've come to a higher level of existence, that is, I no longer live in a house with a leaky roof just because everybody else lives there. But you know, we are living in a time when everybody is willing to take the lazy man's way and not achieve in God. But God desires that we will be spiritual achievers, that we could be spiritual receivers, that is, receiving of the abundance that He has in store for all of those who will press in to know Him. Praise God.

Okay, in Romans the 8th chapter (I'm reading from the King James Version), beginning in verse 1, it says, "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace" (vv. 1-6). Oh, how wonderful it is to be spiritually minded! to seek to be pleasing the Lord, to seek to be walking in the Lord, to seek to be instructed and guided in His Spirit, to be uplifted in the same! You know, we need to pursue those things that pertain to the Kingdom of God, we need to walk in His righteousness, walk in His strength, His power, His glory. For when it is the Lord we will be looking unto, we will find that the Lord will enable us; we will find that the Lord will take us onward and upward as it pleases Him. For it is indeed a wonderful and a beautiful thing, a blessed thing, to know that we can draw of the power of our God, to know that as we are looking unto Him, trusting in Him, that we will be a Spirit-led people.

So often, God's people start out to follow Him in the Spirit, and they end in the flesh. And that is because they become lazy and lackadaisical, slothful along the way, and they begin to hearken to the ravenings of the carnal mind rather than listening to the commands of the Spirit. As you know, that if we are carnally minded, the Bible says, that that is the sentence of death. So when we give in to the carnal mind in all of its rantings, in all of those things that it wants to lead us off into that are vain pursuits, we are taken away from the life that is found in the Spirit of God. But if we will cleave unto the Lord with the giving of thanks and praise, we will find that we are led forth in His Spirit-truth, His Spirit-light, His Spirit-glory. What a blessed thing it is to be uplifted, able to rejoice always as we walk in the Spirit! God desires a people who would be living and abiding in His Spirit, that they could see the marvelous Acts of His Spirit revealed.

You know, there are good things, blessed things, wondrous things that the Spirit desires to show forth day by day by day, and how often we miss those things because we keep our minds, our thoughts, our intentions, our actions, on a purely carnal level. And when we do that, we are walking in death, we are living in death, we are speaking death, we are pursuing death. But God does not want us to be among the dead, but He wants us to be among the living, that is, those who are living in the Spirit of who He is, those who are willing to come forth in the glorious realms of triumph that only He can provide. For it is indeed a glorious thing, a wondrous thing to be uplifted in the power of our God, to know that it is the Lord who is the omnipresent, to know that it is the Lord who is the glorious, to know that it is the Lord who is the wondrous One who does provide. For when we are looking unto Him in faith believing and adhering unto that which the Spirit will speak unto us, we will be uplifted and brought forth, and we will be able to be made more than conquerors, made to be alive in Him. For it is indeed a wonderful thing to be able to be free from the law of sin and death, to be able to come forth in the law of life that is the walk in the Spirit.

All of those of you who have longed for such a thing, today is the day to begin to receive all that God has. For God does not withhold Himself from a people who are eager to receive, a people who are eager to believe. But God withholds Himself when we will not give up that which we know to be death, to be sin, to be devastation, and we cling to the same because we are carnally minded. But we can be renewed by the washing of the Word; our minds can be uplifted to receive and perceive the things that be of the Spirit of Almighty God. What a blessed thing it is even this day to know that if we look to Him, we shall know victory in triumph!

** ** ** **
"You know, there are good things, blessed things, wondrous things that the Spirit desires to show forth day by day by day, and how often we miss those things because we keep our minds, our thoughts, our intentions, our actions, on a purely carnal level. And when we do that, we are walking in death, we are living in death, we are speaking death, we are pursuing death."

** ** ** **

There are some of you, you have been troubled continually and sore vexed because the enemy has kept you on the carnal plane. Your spirit has longed to soar in the Lord but there seems as though there are bondages against you, as though there are weights keeping you down, as though there are chains upon your mind. Right now we are going to break those powers of darkness through the Mighty Name of Jesus and through the empowerment of the Holy Ghost.

~PRAYER~

We just come against every spirit of bondage, every spirit of oppression, every spirit of heaviness that does seek to beset the people of God. We come against those nagging and haranguing thoughts that always keep us boxed up in carnality, that keep us pursuing the lusts of the flesh, and we command those things to get off of us in Jesus' name. We thank you, dear God, that it is you who is our liberty, that it is you who is our freedom, that it is you who is the Revolutionary who brings revolt in our lives, that we can revolt against our own carnality, that we can revolt against the sentence of death, that we can revolt against the body of sin and come forth in you. We thank you, dear God, for delivering us even this day of those oppressive forces.

Likewise we come against the bondages of sicknesses that have afflicted us in the body, and we command those bondages to be broken off, in Jesus' name. Everyone that is suffering physically from a sickness, a disease, illness, THIS IS YOUR TIME TO BE RELEASED. For the Lord is well able and He desires that you would be released from the bondages always thrown upon you and your aches and pains and your troubles in all of your sorrow. IT IS NOT TIME TO DWELL UPON THOSE THINGS, BUT IT IS TIME TO DWELL UPON THE GLORIES OF GOD. We just command every spirit of heaviness, every spirit of oppression, every spirit of sickness and disease to be gone, to be lifted from the people of God.

** ** ** **

Today we are declaring liberation to those who are shackled, to those who are bound, to those who are oppressed. We are speaking deliverance, we are speaking for healing and we are believing. As we believe in the spoken Word of the Lord, that Word becomes our liberation. And the Lord is the one who gives forth His Word, who does command and it is spoken and so His people are free. What a wonderful thing it is to know that we can be a Spirit people, that we can be uplifted, rejoicing in Him.

** ** ** **

Father, we are thanking you, even this day, for your wonderful mercies, for your tender lovingkindness. We are thanking you for Jesus Christ the Lord, who is our Deliverer, who is our Healer, who is our Redeemer. We are thanking you even this day that you have heard our prayers, our petitions, our cries, and that you have answered. We are thanking you that even now you are stirring us in Spirit that we can be your Spirit people.

Dear God, it is our prayer, it is our cry that we will see the mighty Acts of the Spirit day by day in our lives, that we will be a Spirit-led people, uplifted, rejoicing always in you, that we will not be in bondage to the law of sin and death but we will be in the captivity of the glorious Spirit that you desire to bring us forth in, that is, the Living Spirit of the Living God, that we may rejoice in you.

We thank you that it is you that we can trust in and believe in. We thank you that you are the one who will uplift us and take us on. We thank you this day that you have shown us once again your delivering hand, your merciful healing and the restorative powers of who you are. We thank you that it is you that we can look unto continually, trusting and believing. We thank you for the empowerment of the Holy Ghost which we do receive as we cry out in Spirit. We thank you likewise for the wonderful deliverances that are found in Jesus Christ the Lord.

We thank you, Father God, that it is you that we can believe in, that it is you that we can trust. We thank you that we can be subject unto you because you are our Master, our Keeper. We thank you for the Lordship of your Son in our lives, that we can be submitted, yielded over and walking in obedience. We thank you for the privilege to be a Spirit people, to be walking in obedience unto the commands of the same. We thank you that it is you who has privileged us, who has brought us forth in the tender mercies. And it is you that we love, it is you that we choose, it is you that we obey.

It is a wonderful, beautiful, blessed thing to give thanks and praise unto thee and know that you are able. It is a wonderful, beautiful, blessed thing to be uplifted always rejoicing in thee. And it is a wonderful, beautiful thing to be freed from the law of sin and death, able to come forth, always rejoicing, giving praise unto thee.

Acts OF THE Spirit

Message #250

~General Deborah Green~

PRAISE GOD. Welcome to the Acts of the Spirit series. What a blessed thing it is to know that we can be dependent upon God, that we can be looking to God no matter what our circumstance or situation, that we can know that it is God who is able, who is able, who is able—it is God who is able to uplift us, it is God who is able to take us forth, it is God who is able to renew us in His strength! And as we will be looking unto the Lord, we will find that we are increased in the mercies of God.

You know, so often the enemy will come at us, he will assail us, he will attack us, he will attempt to get us defeated and discouraged to keep us from looking to the Lord. But if it is the Lord that we will look to again and again and again, it is the Lord who will give us His mercy. Oh how wonderful it is to know that we can be reliant upon Him, that we can be reliant upon His truth, upon His power, upon His glory; that we can be brought forth in the way that He does provide and that the Lord is most gracious in His mercies! Oh what a blessed thing it is to be able to trust in our God!

So often as believers in the Lord, we fail to receive from God because we fail to believe in God. We will be put in desperate straits by the Lord in order to cry out unto Him...instead, we resort to the arm of flesh and are overwhelmed by the same. But God never intended that we would be yielding ourselves to the arm of flesh but God has intended that we will be yielded to Him: that is, the Lord has intended that we would look unto Him, believe in Him, and trust in Him all of our days. For it is indeed a wonderful thing to know that our God is able, and as we are looking unto Him, that He will uplift us and take us forward, that He will uplift us and give us life, that He will uplift us and give us His peace. Because when we will be reliant upon the Lord, we are relying upon the truth, we are relying upon the strength, the power, the glory of who He is. Oh, what a glorious day it is that we can be renewed in our God, that we can be uplifted continually as we put our faith, our hope, our confidence in Him!

You know, the Lord desires that we would find in this life that there is nothing else that is our hope, there is nothing else that is the refuge, the strength, the glory that we have need of. And the Lord desires that we would be continually crying out unto Him, believing in Him. But the enemy, in his efforts to drive a wedge between us and God, will have cruel people rise up to make slanderous remarks, to make scathing remarks, to make scornful remarks towards us, implying, “Where is your God?”; implying, “Where is this great God that you believe in, if you are in such a circumstance?” But you know, when men will rise up in such a way, that is not the time for us to crumble and fall down to their lies, to their accusations, to their scorning and scoffing. But that is the time for us to rise up in faith and in hope and in confidence, knowing that our God is able. For when it is the Lord that we will look unto, we will find ourselves uplifted continually. And when it is the Lord that we will believe in, we will find that our God does provide.

Turn with me, if you will, to Psalms the 4th chapter. This is such a good Psalm. It says, “Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer. O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing?” (vv. 1-2). “Leasing” is lies. And it’s saying that these ones are trying to shame the one that believes in God. They are loving vanity and they’re seeking after lies, and these are the ones that will come against the true believer.

“The Lord desires that we would find in this life that there is nothing else that is our hope, there is nothing else that is the refuge, the strength, the glory that we have need of.”

Going on in verse 3, it says, “Know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.” So we see that the Lord is the One who is full of mercy; the Lord is the One who will tune His ear to hear when the righteous cry unto Him.

It is important that we seek to remain in right standing with God, because to do so, lends God’s ear unto us. When we go off and do our own thing, do our own way, do as we please, when we please, how we please, we do not have the Lord as our audience. That is, when we cry unto the Lord, the Lord is not going to hear us as He would if we are walking close to Him, if we are seeking to walk uprightly, if we were seeking to please Him. Because the Lord will lend His ear unto those who will walk in righteousness.

It says, “Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still” (v. 4). In other words, settle these things before you come to the presence of God so you do not offend God with worldliness, so you do not offend God with scoffing and scorning or with pride or with vanity or other things that are a vexation to God.

It says, “Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD. There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us. Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased” (vv. 5-7). And he says, “I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety” (v. 8). So we see, that the sum conclusion of it is, that it is God who will cause his heart to be glad, it is God who will cause him to be uplifted, rejoicing; it is God who knows that he needs His delivering hand and offers him the same. And then he will be able to lay down in peace and sleep because God will make him to dwell in safety.

You know, in treacherous times such as we live in, what a glorious thing it is to know that as we are trusting in God, that we can dwell in safety, and as we are believing in God, we can know what it is to have His peace upon us, to have the safety of who He is, to have the guidance that He delights to bring us forth in. Oh, what a wonderful, beautiful thing it is, to be dependent upon God, to be dependent upon His mercies, to be dependent upon His life! And what a blessed thing it is to be able to walk forth in the realm of righteousness of our God! God does not desire us backing up from the way that He ordains, but He desires us pressing forward that we will be in His righteousness.

Even today, there are some of you, you are in terrible shape, you are living in fear, you are living in doubt, you are living in unbelief, because you have listened to the lies of the liar, because you have paid heed to those who are scorning and scoffing, and you have grown very weak in your faith and confidence in God. That is not the way to go. The way to go is settle things before God even today. This is the day to cry out unto God, to believe in God, to present your needs to God and know that He is able: know that He is able to hear, know that He is able to answer, know that He is able to deliver and bring forth, know that it is the Lord who is our healer, that it is the Lord who does restore us and give us His strength.

“God does not desire us backing up from the way that He ordains, but He desires us pressing forward that we will be in His righteousness. ...This is the day to cry out unto God, to believe in God, to present your needs to God and know that He is able.”

PRAYER:

Father, we come before you even now, in the name of Jesus Christ the Lord, knowing that you are well able. And we ask you to take away the sins that we have committed through doubt and fear and unbelief by backing up from that which you desired in our lives and giving way to lies, giving way to scoffing and scorning. Father, we confess that we have failed thee. We ask thee to forgive us, sanctify us, and renew us in righteousness, because we desire to be your people, we desire to be trusting only in you.

Furthermore, we present unto you our petitions, not because we are mistrusting but because we are trusting. Because we know that it is you alone who is our help, it is you alone who will cause us to dwell in safety.

Father, we commit unto you those problems that have come into our lives because of our falling away, and we ask you even now to deliver us of those demonic powers of sickness, of those demonic powers of doubt and unbelief. We pray right now and ask you, dear God, to break the bondages that have been put against us, to break the oppression of the oppressor, and to free us from that yoke of bondage.

We come against the spirits of cancer, we come against the spirits of diabetes—we command them to be gone in Jesus’ name. We thank you that you hear our cry, we thank you that you hear our plea. We pray also against the spirits of heart problems, oh, so many heart problems that are a vexation and a torment. We pray, dear God, that you would heal us of these things and bring us forth in righteousness.

We pray also, dear God, that you would help us in those areas where we have succumbed to lusts, and help us overcome all the demons of lust and wantonness that have sought to devour and destroy our testimony. We command those things out in the name of Jesus and thank you that through you, we are uplifted and renewed.

We come against the crippling devils of arthritis, of rheumatism—we command you to leave right now in Jesus’ name. We come against the forces that are causing mental anxiety and oppression and command them to be gone from our minds. We thank you that it is you who is our healer, that it is you who does deliver us, that it is you who does restore us. We thank you that we can trust in the almighty power of who you are again and again.

We come against all the spirits of respiratory problems, of lung problems that have assailed the people of God—we command them to get off right now in Jesus’ name. Every spirit of affliction encamped in the area of the lungs, we command all of those devils to be ground to powder, to be cast out, and to be banished.

We thank you, dear God, that it is you who is the one who is able, that it is you who is the one who is triumphant, that it is you that we can look to and believe. We thank you that we can trust in your healing power, that we can trust in your delivering hand. We thank you even now that you know every affliction, that you know every sickness, that you know every oppression that seeks to destroy your people. We thank you that it is you who has delivered, even this day, and continue to deliver and heal as we have our confidence renewed in you. We thank you that it is you who will cause us to lie down, to dwell in peace, and to sleep, oh God, and dwell in safety because you are our maker, our keeper, our God.

We thank you that it is you who is the triumphant, who is the victorious, who is the glorious, the one true God. We thank you that it is you who has done these beautiful, marvelous things because you are so wonderful, so merciful towards your people. We thank you that it is you that we can be continually looking unto, dependent upon your mercy. We thank you that it is you who is healing afflictions in the knees even now, because of those continuing mercies. We thank you that it is you who does raise your people up, who does strengthen your people that we can go forth. We thank you that we can be victorious, triumphant, remaining in you.

PRAISE GOD. Welcome to these Acts of the Spirit messages. What a privilege it is to humble ourselves before God, to know that we can walk before our God in humility of mind and heart, and that our God will keep His keeping hand over us! It is a stupid thing to ensnare ourselves in pride and arrogance, in conceit against God, and think that we no longer need His counsel, need His instruction, need His direction. For the truth of it is, God has established it that we would be needy of Him all of our days upon this earth. He has established it that we would walk in His light, walk in His power and in His glory. Because when we are walking uprightly before the Lord, the Lord will show mercy upon us.

You know, there are times and seasons when God releases, because of the sins of humanity, His wrath, his fury, his indignation. And when He does bring forth such things, it is only those who are walking in humility before Him that will be kept in any particular locality where His wrath, His fury and indignation are released. It is stupid to think that we are able to keep ourselves, that we are alright, that we are okay, if we are not alright with God. For it is God that we are meant to obey, it is God that we are meant to please, it is God that we are meant to live in.

So often we want to run to those areas of the earth where God is bringing forth the natural disasters and play God and tell the people that are left behind in the aftermath, “Everything is okay.” But the truth of it is, everything is not okay, and men and women need to repent throughout the earth. Because we are living in a time when God is vindicating Himself through His wrath, His fury, His indignation, and we need to humble ourselves before God. We do not need to be as the proud boasters, strutting ourselves and thinking that somehow we are so great, so grand, so glorious. But we need to be humbling ourselves before Him, realizing that it is Him and Him alone who will give us His strength, His power, His glory.

“It is stupid to think that we are able to keep ourselves, that we are alright, that we are okay, if we are not alright with God.”

It is indeed a blessed thing to be able to cry out unto God, to believe in God and to know that He is able. And when it is the Lord that we will look unto, it is the Lord who will uplift us and bring us forth. It is the Lord who will give us His light, who will give us His mercy, who will shelter us in the storm. Oh, what a wonderful thing it is to know that we can be kept by our God! What a wonderful thing it is to know that when the Lord desires us to humble ourselves, that we will be able to do that, that we will know His keeping hand over us.

You know, so often, God’s people are taken right in the judgments of the heathen because they are not in right standing with God. Just because we have named the name of the Lord, does not put us in right standing. And though we may have been converted to the Lord as a child, as a young teenager, as a young adult, and we think that that lasts forever when we go and live our lives in sin, live our lives for ourselves, live our lives for indulgence...we are only deceiving ourselves. For in order to have the covering of protection from the Lord, we must be in right standing. For the Lord will hear the cries of the righteous, and those are the ones that He will shield and cover and protect. And in order to be in right standing, we must be humble before God.

Turn with me, if you will, to the book of Zephaniah, and let us proceed to chapter 2. I’m reading from the Amplified version. But before we get into chapter 2, let’s read verses 17 and 18 of chapter one, and see what God has to say about His judgments.

He says, “And I will bring distress upon men so that they shall walk like blind men because they have sinned against the Lord. Their blood shall be poured out like dust and their flesh like dung. Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD’S indignation and wrath. But the whole earth shall be consumed in the fire of His jealous wrath, for a full, yes, a sudden end will He make of all the inhabitants of the earth.” Now if you look at that and you read that, it shows you that nobody has a protection against God. The rich, with all of their gold and silver; the proud, with all of their arrogance and conceit; those who are smug; those who are in ivory towers, so to speak; those who are so secure in the securities of this world—all of those things mean absolutely nothing in the day of the Lord’s wrath and indignation. So let us walk with fear and trembling before our God, realizing that He is sovereign.

“In order to have the covering of protection from the Lord, we must be in right standing.”

You know, there is much talk across the nation about the fact that it is hurricane season. And everybody is thinking they can come into some form of preparedness, some form of protecting themselves and keeping themselves from these terrific and horrifying storms. But the truth of it is, the only thing that will truly prove to be our protection, prove to be our shield in the time of storm, is the hand of Almighty God. For if we want to face reality, the truth of it is, that the storms come from God. And it is God who is vindicating Himself upon the sinful cities, upon the sinful coastlines, upon the wretched miserable state of humanity, because they refuse to walk in Him. Because they scoff and scorn His laws and His standards, and it is God who is bringing His wrath and His indignation. So let us walk with fear before God and know that it is only through Him that we shall be kept.

In chapter 2 of Zephaniah it says, “Collect your thoughts, yes, unbend yourselves [in submission, and see if there is no sense of shame, and no consciousness of sin left in you], oh shameless nation (not desirous or desired)! The time for repentance is speeding by like chaff whirled before the wind! Therefore consider, before God’s decree brings forth (the curse upon you), before the time (to repent) is gone like a drifting chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD comes upon you—yes, before the day of the wrath of the LORD comes upon you! Seek the Lord [inquire for Him, inquire of Him, and require Him as the foremost necessity of your life], all you humble of the land who have acted in compliance with His revealed will and have kept His commandments: seek righteousness, seek humility [inquire for them, require them as vital]. It may be you will be hidden in the day of the LORD’s anger.” So we see that if we think that we will be able to be hidden in the day of the Lord’s anger, we need to be adhering to this requirement of seeking the Lord, inquiring for the Lord, and desiring the Lord as the foremost necessity of our life. And we should walk in humility before Him, and act in compliance with His revealed will and keep His commandments and seek righteousness, seeking humility, requiring them as vital. Then, it says, that we may be hidden in the day of the Lord’s anger.

OH, IF ONLY THE RETURN OF THE FEAR OF THE LORD WOULD COME UPON THE LAND, HOW MANY COULD BE SPARED? But we are living in a time when we have been taught and trained and told, that we are so important to God, that we can dictate to God, that we can direct God, that God is obligated to forgive us, even though we sin and sin and sin again, even though we indulge ourselves in willful sin and debauchery, we’ve been told that God is obligated. The truth of it is, God is not obligated to any man or any woman, but we are obligated to God. We are obligated to cry out unto the Lord, and beseech Him for mercy, beseech Him for life, beseech Him for His goodness. Because it is only by compliance to the standard of the Lord that we will be regarded as righteous and our prayers be heard.

~PRAYER~

Father, we come before you even now in the name of Jesus Christ the Lord, crying out unto you in seriousness, God, because we know that you alone are merciful. Lord, we confess our sins before thee of high-mindedness, of pride, of arrogance, of trusting in silver and gold that are the riches of this world that pass away. We confess that we’ve grown stone-cold in our hearts, that we have been flippant and foolish, that we have been wanton and careless, that we have lived in sin and thought we got by.

Father, we are confessing before you today that it is we, your people, who have sinned. We are begging you in the name of Jesus to wipe away the stain of our sin, to cleanse us and sanctify us once again. Because we realize, dear God, that it is only by your mercy that we are permitted to remain living upon this earth. We realize that in your wrath, your fury, your indignation, that you can easily smite us, that you could easily destroy us and we would be remembered no more. We realize that you could wash us out to the sea of iniquity and our bones and our flesh would be eaten by the prey of the sea. We realize, dear God, that it is only by you that we are given the light, that we are given the mercy, that we are given the breath to even cry out unto you.

Father, we humble ourselves this day, confessing that we have been guilty before thee. We will not try to hide our sin because that sin will be the condemnation in the day of judgment. We know that your judgments are upon the earth, there is no sense to pretend about it, to try to hide it, to act as though it isn’t so. So many in this hour are acting as though these are not your judgments but they are coming from outer space, they are coming from the man on Mars, they are coming from who knows where. Father, we know that you are the one who controls all things and it is you who is trying to call the attention of humanity to the grievousness that their sins have borne in your sight. And Father, we are looking unto you even now, crying out for forgiveness, not only for our own sins, but the sins of our brethren around the world, crying out for the sins of our nation, crying out for the sins of our family, crying out for the sins that we have done before you, crying out, dear God, for your forgiveness, for your mercy, before it is too late.

We admit before you that we are needy of you and it is you that we must have. We bring ourselves before thee this day, asking to be free, to be delivered of all of those oppressive forces that the enemy has put upon us because of sin. We pray to be delivered of the demonic powers that have encamped against us and caused us to be crippled, caused us to be diseased, caused us to be demented and full of sin, caused us to be even crazy as we have striven against you.

Father, we thank you even now that it is you who is our deliverance, that it is you who is our healer, that it is you who is our strength and you do provide. We thank you that as we put our petition in all earnestness before you, that it is you who does hear us when we cry. Because, dear God, we do not want to be destroyed, we do not want to be devastated, we do not want to be taken out of the earth in the state of the sinful. But dear God, we want to be able to stand in your righteousness, declaring your truth in a sin-sick generation.

We thank you that it is you who is merciful, that it is you who does give us the warning, that it is you who desires us to humble ourselves. It is you that we must have, it is you that we must look unto, it is you that we desire, it is you that we long for and inquire of that we may know your will, that we may walk in your counsel all of our days, trusting and believing in you. For it is indeed a beautiful thing, a righteous thing, to be blessed to be kept by you. It is only you that will keep us, it is only you that will shield us and guide us in the way.
